About Tzipporah
Hesci!
My name is Tzipporah Rothschild-Manory and Cvkvlv.com is my online store for my beadwork and art, and my full-time professional occupation. I’m a Two-Spirit, Mvskoke, and Jewish Chicago-based artist and I’ve been running my business for going on three years now. My art centers the Mvskoke language, starting with my brand (pronounced Chuh-kuh-luh), which is the name of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker, an important medicine bird to Mvskoke (Mus-co-gee) people, that is unfortunately extinct. The Mvskoke language is endangered, but it is not yet extinct, and we can still save it. So I also use Mvskoke names for most of my pieces, in the hope that people learn with me. Native culture is still reeling from the generational trauma of losing the land, the language, the Cvkvlv, and everything else that was stolen from us in the process of colonization, and this is my way of reclaiming those things and keeping them alive. This is my way of healing and protesting, and making my ancestors, elders, and aunties proud.
I am an enrolled citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. All of my beadwork/art is 100% Native American made, compliant with the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990.
If you have any questions, or if there is anything I can do for you, do not hesitate to reach out to me on my Contact Page or Social Media.
